A great way to practice is to use the buddy system. One of the best things about disc golf is hanging out with friends. Use your friends and have putting contests. Or to help with distance is to throw 3+ discs back and forth trying to out drive each other while improving accuracy. Plus you don't have to chase down all your discs and wear yourself out by walking back and forth.
If one person can out drive the other constantly and by any real measurable distance you might want to compensate by having the stronger thrower throw up hill and the weaker throw down. This way both can get a great workout without someone having to hold back or the other trying to throw so hard they hurt themselves.
